About Cloud 9Amy Cloud, multi-instrumentalist and composer, has performed in country, folk, rock, and dance bands in Boston, Florida and the Delmarva Peninsula. An alumna of the Boston School of Contemporary Music, she is the Music Director of the Delaware Shakespeare Festival and has both performed and composed music for three productions. She served as the Creative Director for the unique children's entertainment troupe, Fiddlin' & Foolin', which performed her original songs for children. Amy performs traditional Irish music in Danaher & MacCloud with fellow musician and storyteller Kate Danaher. They are currently writing a two-woman stage show, "About the Murphy’s," which will feature Amy's original compositions. Bruce Mc Coy began private study at age 11 with many well-known trumpet teachers in the Wilmington area. While in high school he studied music theory and attended the Wilmington Music School's Jazz Workshops, where he studied with jazz greats Herbie Hancock and Donald Byrd. He toured Europe in 1972 with the American Youth Jazz Band and won trumpet soloist award at the Paris Jazz Festival. In 1973 he was selected for Delaware's All-State Band. Bruce attended West Chester University as a music major and performed with the West Chester University Jazz Band. He has played professionally since he was 16 with numerous groups including Patchwork, Airport Road, JazzTech, Red Hot and blue, and Group Therapy. In addition, he has also played with many of the big bands that tour the area and performed for many theater productions, such as Guys and Dolls, Hello Dolly, Annie Get Your Gun, Camelot, and Chicago. Bruce is also a composer and has to his credit an independent film score and television documentary soundtrack that aired on the A&E channel in August of 1995. Amy and Bruce co-composed the musical score for the Delaware Shakespeare Festival's 2007 production of "Richard III," and have begun work on the music for the 2008 Festival production of "Romeo and Juliet." Amy and Bruce have experience in composing for a variety of genres including Jazz, Classical, and New Age. They recently completed a compilation of innovative jazz pieces, and are currently in the studio recording their work. Other current writing projects include a Philadelphia stage show, film projects, and an upcoming CD of New Age and meditation music. |
